It’s 2022 and we are all enjoying the benefits of The Experience Economy. What do I mean by this? Social Media has opened the doors to a world stage for everyone and anyone—and any business—to entertain. It is, essentially, a purposeful performance that has no beginning or end. And, I don’t say that as a means of intimidation. It is simply a great way to understand your responsibility for awesome social media content.

For business owners, fully embracing content and content strategies that bring emotion and meaning to social media platforms is very important. You shouldn’t be in a mindset of selling, but rather storytelling. And, of course, this all starts with a great story realized through compelling photos, interesting video content and purposeful social media messaging.

Connecting with customers on social media develops trust, brand recognition and loyalty. Experiential content brings an audience into the four walls of your business, gives them a sense of “being there,” interacting with you and your business, your products, your services (e.g., a great video of your attractive bartender making a signature martini, a photo slideshow of new spring outfits and accessories). By providing that experience, they look upon your business more favorably. We are still selling—but the pitch is hidden in story driven content we construct for social media.
